TANUKI HOUSE: UK HOMESTAY
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
Availability
Homestays of 5 to 10 nights in duration are normally available at Tanuki House during the English school holidays. If you'd like to do a homestay at another time then please contact me and I will put you in touch with someone else who can arrange a UK homestay for you.
The following dates are available in 2008:
21st March - 1st April
12th July - 24th August
25th October - 2nd November
Pricing
Prices per person for 2008 are as follows:
Booking fee: £40 per booking
Cost per night: £80 for first guest; £65 for each additional guest in shared room (maximum of 3 guests)
These prices include at least 60 minutes per day of tuition. Additional tuition may be available (cost £15 per person per hour for one-on-two, or £20 for one-on-one) depending on the number and level of guests. If the guests are of two very different levels of English ability then they will be taught separately.
If tuition is not required then other activities may be substituted, for example educational games, cultural activities or longer excursions.

So for example:
The fee for a 5-night package for one person will be
£40 + (5 nights x £80) = £440
... and a 10-night package for two people will cost
£40 + (10 nights x £80) + (10 nights x £65) = £1490

Payment
A deposit of £250 per person is payable upon booking, and the balance upon arrival at Tanuki House. Payment should be made by postal money order or by electronic bank transfer. You will receive the full contact details for Tanuki House by email when you make a booking using the online form.
If the deposit is not received within 14 days of the booking date then the booking will be cancelled.
If you cancel more than 90 days before the beginning of your stay, the deposit will be refunded in full, less a 10% administration charge. Alternatively you can change to a different date, free of charge. Later cancellations will be charged as follows:

"Amount carried across" refers to the amount that will go towards the cost if you choose to re-book for an alternative date instead of cancelling outright.
Other information
- Participants under 16 years of age must be must be accompanied by a guardian.
- Prices include accommodation, tuition fees, all meals and daily excursions (excluding admission fees and refreshments), and unlimited English conversation.
- Prices do not include travel to the UK (flights from Japan cost around ¥100,000, depending on the time of year) and travel to Birmingham (about £30 return by coach from Heathrow airport; you can book online at www.nationalexpress.com, or I can arrange the tickets for you if you prefer).
